I have a computer/device showing up in my workgroup that I do not
recognize. When I attempt to access the device, I recieve a "\\S123456
is not accessible. The network path was not found" If I attempt to list
properties of the computer/device, I recieve a " server S123456 could
not be found on the network" message. I have a Windows 2000 server
running AD and most of my computers are domain members. Is there any
way for me to get information about this device or disable it so that
it does not have network access if I do not know where or what the
device is?

Looks like someone's bringing in a home computer or laptop from outside and
hooking it up to your network. How to prevent it is a tough question since
we don't have any details on your network configuration.
