"Pet populations"?

Hi,

When I make a chart in Excel, the title by default is "Pet populations". I
have never made a chart with this title. (Actually, I bet I know where it
came from: I installed the Access Bible 2002 CD ROM, which runs you through
a sample database about an animal hospital.) In any event, where might this
be stored and how can I change it?

Thanks,

Jamie

Hi Jamie,

At some point, you probably clicked on the "Set as default chart"
button in the Format > Chart Type dialog. Doing that adds the selected
chart as a custom auto-chart format and uses it for all new charts.

To get rid of it, select a chart and click Format > Chart Type. Select
the 'Custom Types' tab and the 'User-defined' option button. One of
the items in the list should be "Default". Select that and click the
Delete button. You'll get a confirmation about resetting it to the
standard default type - click OK. You'll notice that the "Default"
entry remains, but if you look closely at the description, it will have
changed to read "... (Standard:1,1)" instead of the previous "... (User
Defined:<Chart Name>)"

Alternatively, if you want to get rid of all the custom chart styles,
find a file call XLUSRGAL.xls on your hard disk and delete it.
