Hello,

i try to migrate users from AD 2000 to AD 2003 using ADMTv3.
i installed the password export server with the i386\ADMT\pwdmig directory
included in the windows 2003 CD.

the installation works fine but i can not find the PES service.

when i try to migrate the users account i get the following message:
"impossible to establish a connection with the password export server.
the service specified doen't exist as an installed service".

i made the all procedure (generate PES key on the target domain and put the
..pes file on the source domain controller, create all the registry key
needed...

Does someone knows why i don't get the PES service ?

thank you in advance.

After the PES service install, the service is either disabled or set to
"Manual". Make sure you start the service after it's installed.

Hi Tim,

Unfortunately when i install the server for password export i get no PES
service.
i tried to install it twice without seeing any corresponding service.

My server is a windows 2000 DC having the 5 roles.
This server also has WSUS. is it this that might disturb the installation
and let my server with no PES service ?

Patrick,

Sorry, I got no magic for you.
I doubt WSUS is preventing the installation of the service. If I
recall the PES setup is .exe not an .msi, you may check to see if it
created a logfile or if you can re-run the installation and create a
log file.

Something is preventing the app from creating a service. There were no
error messages during the install?

Tim,

the application seems to install properly, finishing by asking to reboot,
but nos service is available neither a log.
where is it supposed to be located ?

i have administrator rights..
