Persuading WGA that I'm allowed to transfer a retail copy between PCs

I got no response to this posting when I made it in the general
windows update newsgroup, so let's try the question again here,
and apologies to anyone who reads it twice.

I have a *retail* copy of Windows 2000 Pro. that I've switched
from one PC to another. Does anyone know what must be done to
persuade the "Genuine Advantage" software to let me download
updates again? At the moment, if I try it, then I get a message
that the software has been registered to another PC (or words to
that effect, I can't remember the exact message).

My attempts to pose the question to Microsoft have met with two
totally irrelevant replies.

Of course it has.. you told us it has. :-)

You'll need to call the Activation Center and get the matter resolved (i.e.
have them remove the 'retired' machine from the database).
