Dear All,

I had recently upgraded the PST file format to Outlook 2003, from the older
version by creating a new pst file & importing the entries. But for whatever
reason the PST backup that I used to use does not seem to find the new
outlook file that I had created. Is not the pst backup compatible with the
Outlook 2003 file format?

Thanks in advance,
K. Ramaswamy

When I upgraded from OL2002 to OL2003, I did what you describe (well, not
exactly; I didn't import. I just created a new PST, changed my default
delivery to that PST and then used drag-and-drop to move the items in the
old PST to the new) and did not have to update the PFBACKUP app at all. It
copied the new format PST just fine. The reason this is possible is because
PFBACKUP operates on the entire file. It is not concerned with the internal
format of the file. It's essentially just a COPY command scheduled on your
behalf by Outlook. However, the version of PFBACKUP available from MS's
Office download site may (or may not) be newer than the one you have. The
current tool's release date is 10/31/2003 and it's supposed to work for OL
2000 and onward.
