Personal.xls does not load

Hi
If I click on the EXCEL icon, my file PERSONAL.xls- which contains a bunch
of macro's does load.
BUT if I click on an XLS file, that file does load but macros can not seem
to find PERSONAL.XLS.
It seems to me- I could be wrong, that in the past any time I loaded a xls
file, all my macros located in PERSONAL.XLS were available.
What am I doing wrong
