Does anyone have any sugestions.

When Front Page 2000 installs on my laptop which has windows xp it comes up
with a message stating that front page could not find a microsoft persoanl
server.

Please help!

Under Windows XP Pro, you need to install IIS with FP extensions from Add/Remove Window Component.

FP 2000 still relied very much on having a web server present so it will
give this error. You can still work with FP 2000 though by creating
disk-based webs (ie: webs that you don't use a web server for and are simply
directories on your computer). If your laptop is running XP Home edition
then you will not be able to run the IIS web server. If you're on XP Pro go
to Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Add/Remove Windows Components and
select IIS from the list, making sure that your Windows CD is handy in case
you'll need it.

Hope this helps,
