I recently took over a PC from another person and I would like to install the Personal Folders backup for outlook. When I try to install it says there is a current copy already installed you must uninstall first, do you want to uninstall. If you click yes it comes back and says "cannot uninstall" go to add/remove programs to uininstall. If you go to add/remove programs it is not there. I have gotten around this in the past by logging in as the old user and then removing the program in their profile. Unfortunately the old user has been deleted from this machine. Does any one know how to delete this program another way. or where windows installs this program?

Hi,

To get around this error & to continue with the installation, you need to
modify the registry.

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious
problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft
cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using
Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

1.Click Start, and then click Run.
2.In the Open box, type regedit.exe, and then click OK.
3.Locate the follow registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\Products\06c7e36cbe523d11e8ad
000a9c118e5e.

4.On the Registry menu, click Export Registry File.
5.Choose a location for the registry file to be saved, type a name for the
file, and then click Save.
6.In Registry Editor, click the 06c7e36cbe523d11e8ad000a9c118e5e registry
key, and then click Delete on the Edit menu.

Now, start your installation of pfbackup.exe (make sure its size is 183kb).

Pls revert the result.

Regards,
Subbu
