I had recently cleaned off my computer. Before I did so,
I backed up my Inbox in Outlook 2000 as a .pst using the
Import/Export utility. I've done this in the past and
everything has usually just imported back in just fine.
However, this last time I did it, everything seemed to go
just fine (i.e. All my messages were imported and I'm
able to send and receive mail) but ever since I deleted
the backup .pst file from my desktop, I have gotten an
error from Outlook every time I run it. It says that it's
searching for the backup.pst file that I had imported my
messages from and then opens up a box for me to point
Outlook to where the file is now being stored. This has
never happened before. Since all my messages are now in
the Inbox, why does it need to continue to have the
backup file it imported from? I would really like the
error message to stop and would like to know if anybody
can fix this. Thanks.
