Is there a way to show the name of the distribution list in the 'To' field
without showing the names? I know you can put the individual names in the
bcc area, but I would like for the name of the list to display.

To provide a "poor man's" alternative to what Robert said, you can make
another contact whose name is the same as the DL (duplicately named contacts
are just fine in Outlook), give it your address, put that contact in the To
and put the DL contact in the Bcc.
