how do you recover information that you have deleted by accident?

Replying to the spammers doesn't do any good, the spammer never reads
it and it's just annoying. If you can't filter it, ignore it.

By the way. The spammer is using the same news server as you.

I wish there was a way to recover data from memory. THe other day I
was typing an email when my power went out. I lost an hours worth of
typing. Too bad there is no way to retrieve data from memory chips.

A UPS (uninterruptible power supply) will fix that. I've had one for
years, and the occasional one second outage I get here, is no problem
at all. The computer doesn't even know it has happened. For longer
power outages, I can do a controlled shutdown, and once the computer
is off, I shut off the UPS. I think my battery would probably last
for about 8-10 minutes, before the battery would be drained. It isn't a
very big battery. If you are buying one of these, don't buy the
cheapest one you can find - buy from the next price tier up. The
cheapest ones are more trouble than they're worth.

For important documents like that, I type them up in Writer (OpenOffice
version of Word) or Notepad and hit save every so often. I have lost so
many things to just plain clumsy fingers and other reasons that it is a
matter of habit now.
