In my folder list I have 4 personal folders and 2 archieve folders. How can
I tell the current folder and how can I delete the personal folders not in
use?

Outlook 2002

The one with the Outlook Today icon is the current delivery location.
Anything else you can right-click and choose Close if you don't want to see
it. Click Tools>Options>Other>AutoArchive to see which archive PST is the
active one.

Did you add these data files, their contents are all different? ie they are
not duplicates?

When I right click the folder, in folder view, nothing happens. Also all
these pst files and archieve files are in the same location.

If you are unable to view their contents, & I think that is what you are
saying.
With OL closed use the mail applet in the Control Panel to create a new
Profile, add the data file, configure accounts & test

The problem is I can open the files and all the sub-folders. I think I know
which to delete, but when I right click in folder view the delete option is
shaded out.

You can't delete a folder that Outlook created for itself, such as the
default folders Inbox, Outbox, Calendar, Contacts, etc.
