Persisting Offline Folders

When I check "Enable offline files" in the explorer tools
menu the setting doesn't seem to stick. Upon reboot it's
checked off again.

Anyone seen this? Know how to correct? Where does that
setting get persisted -- in the registry?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cisco client software can cause this problem

Some people have also gotten this problem when connecting to
networking resources in a domain while their computer is in Workgroup
mode...

Try the Cisco/networking software first, then we can look for other
workarounds for your problem...

I have this problem too - in my case, persistence remains while logging
on/off, but is lost on reboot. (The desktop icon stays on for a while during
Windows startup sequence).

Curiously, this has only happened since I reinstalled my system (IBM T40) so
I wonder what has changed? I do not use Cisco drivers.
