I'm having various problems with Permissions still. Some files I try to
delete produce an error box saying "I need permission". Even after right
clicking, going to properties, and granting myself permission, this still
happens. I most recently got this error while trying to share folders over my
network. I am the only user of this PC, running Vista Business and I have
full administrator rights. Is this permission think a bug, or do I have a
setting wrong somewhere?

being "an" administrator does not make you "THE" administrator anymore.
there is a difference.
so depending on what type of file youre trying to delete, or if youre
performing an action that the OS thinks should require REAL admin
permission, youll be prompted.

Understood. Since I installed the OS, shouldn't I be "THE" administrator, by
default? Sorry if that's a stupid question. Also, I don't mind being
prompted, but I am being told I cannot delete certain files. These are old
program files, not system files or files that are in use by another program.
I am able to right click folders and give myself permissions, but it never
seems to "take". Another user on this forum helped work me through a similiar
problem, involving gaining access to the Windows.old folder, but it involved
typing a string of commands into an elevated command prompt. There's got to
be an easier way.
