Scott Sanford

hello,
Sorry for the cross-post, but I didn't know where to post.
I've got two subwebs that I wanted to change permissions on. I had gone to
Tools | Permissions and selected from the webpage that the permissions were
unique. I get prompted with a login, but since I have no users defined, I am
unable to access the site to proceed with setting up users.
I've now buggered up two child webs doing this :-(
I know that my server is on unix, but am at a loss on how to proceed.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Scott

It's asking you for a username and password because you don't have the
correct permissions to make that change.

Yes, I could see where that might be true, but I'm trying to set permissions
on a Child web. It doesn't give me the option of enabling or creating users.
The user that I'm using to create the child web is the domain administrator
equivalent for this domain.

Thanks for your reply,

The fact remains that if you were challenged at that point, it is because
you do not have sufficient permissions.

Actually Jim,
No, it wasn't a permission issue, it was an incomplete Front Page extensions
installation. A reinstallation of the extensions has since solved the
situation. Thanks for your responses though
