I have info in a MS Access data base that I want to insert into a word
document.
I started to link the database however I get the following error:

"Runtime Error '3112' Record(s) canot be read; no read permissions on
"Table" "

The database is secured. Since your default workgroup is likely set to
system.mdw, Word attempts to open the mdb using that workgroup and is denied
access.

You would need to change your default workgroup file to the secure mdw that
was used to secure the mdb. That isn't really ideal, as you don't want
every session of Access to use the secure mdw as the default.

I have always had better success starting the Word merge from within the
secure Access session. Since you would have already signed in to the Access
database, you're already authenticated for the Access security. Use Tools,
Office Links, Merge it with Word and proceed from there.

This works okay.

However if possible I would like to set it up so that the person using the
database can click on a command button and a new word document will open
using a template and insert the selected fields for the current record only.

I went to the site and inserted the module and forms as per instructions,
however when i click on the mail merge button I get the following error
"Error Accessing File Network Connection May have been lost"

The demo itself works fine.

What am I doing wrong?

I don't think that the mail merge sample itself would cause that error. Do
you have any problem opening any other forms/reports in your database? Is
the database split?
