I recently upgraded my XP Pro to Vista business. I had a few issues to get
thru but all seemed to be working fine. Lately I have noticed that many of
the folders that I was able to access (since I am the only user) are now off
limits to me. And the icons for the folders have been replaced by the
shortcut icon. Not sure what has happened but can anyone tell me what has
cuased this or how I can solve the problem? Thanks

What you are seeing is normal. The folders that have a shortcut arrow are
Junction Points that have the name of a folder that was used in XP, but is
no longer used in Vista. These are not actual folders but are there for
older programs that may be hard coded to use that old name. These junctions
redirect these older programs to the new location in Vista.

These 'folders' contain no useable data and cannot be accessed.

You can see a complete description of junctions as well as a chart that
shows all of the junctions with the new location and name for these folders
in Vista.
