I was fiddling with the permissions on my machine, trying to set it up so the
guest account could not access my storage drive.
Now I can't view many of the folders on my storage drive, and some of the
audio files I have on there can't even be played, although they can be viewed.
Is there an easy way to reset permissions so that I, the administrator, can
have full control of my files? Even though it says I have full control in the
permissions boxes, I can't look at or open many of my files. HELP!!!!

Well, if you're sure its a permission issue you could go to the Security Tab
of the storage drive and click on the advanced button. Then click on the
little button at the bottom which allows you to replace exisitng permissions
with the ones that you set. Do this after you have reset the permissions with
you having Full Control. Reset the permssions and apply to get control of the
files once again.

A little warning box should pop up in the middle of resetting permissions.
Thats normal.

Reboot the computer and press F8 before it starts in normal mode this will
prompt to chosse the mode type. Choose safe mode with network and log on as
an administrator. Accept all the normal warning messages regarding safe mode
operation and then go the explorer and right click the drive(s) or
folder(s); you will see "security" tab from there you give the access to the
desire usre account and give full access. Once you finish restart the
computer in normal mode. You will have the access to the files and folders
you had chose in safe mode.
Hope this helps
