Hi

I have noticed that some people are unable to gain access
to certain folders - even though they have full access.
If i remove permissions and reset then - the user still
gets access denied. This is happening to a few people.
Anyone got any suggestions?? I have the latest service
packs installed.

Are they accessing the folders through the network? What are the share
permissions then?

Allison,

This is an Active Directory news group. I am not sure that this issue falls
under that heading. You might want to try the General.WIN2000 News Group.

However, since we are here: are you talking about files and folders on a
File Server? How are you granting permissions to the folders? Most people
do not give the individual user account object permissions to folders - most
people do this via group membership. So, is the user account object a
member of any group that might have been explicitedly denied access? This
will trump any access given. Also, remember that there is the NTFS
permission in addition to the Share permission ( a lot of people miss this )
so if the user has only one set of permissions and not the other you will
see something similar to what you are...

HTH,

Cary
