permissions for computer???

Hello All;

I suspect this is an easy question, but I havent figured out how to ask th
KB for the information- briefly my delima:

I am running win 2000 prof. It is located in my company where many outsiders
use the computer. I have set the permissions to not allow anyone to download
or install any programs, by use of the check box provided for this level of
protection in the users area. My problem is I have a fire wall that asks for
permission to allow for users to access the internet with IE, I have set the
firewall to not ask "again" for the permission to allow IE to access the
internet, which should allow users to just launch IE and they are on the net.
However that is not the case. For reasons I do not know it continues to ask
for permission to access etc.

Some on told me that I could set the computer itself to be part of the
administrators group and this problem would probably go away. That being the
case it will probably clear up another problem I am having with permissions.

To clearify, I am using the EZ Armor package from CA (computer associates)
which has the firewall I was referring to and another product called Pest
Patrol, a spyware protectant. When the user logs on, and it is time for Pest
Patrol to go to work, I get a dialog box that says the users does not have
write permissions to allow for pest patrol to write its logs and what have
you.

I hope I can get some help here. I do not know if what I was told will do
the trick but if that is all that needs to be done, I would appreciate some
one either telling me how to do what I need to do or point me to an article
that will guide me through the process.

Thank you ever so much

mdooly
