Can some help me.

Everything I do simply will not work and currently all
users have access to all shares and I cannot see why.

Could someone explain what the permissions should be for
this scenario:

Share A has SF (subfolders) 1-3.

Each SF is a project folder and only requires a select few
to have access to each SF.

Groups GP 1-3 have ben set up as containers to gain access
to the associated SF.

What should the permissions be for:

1. the Share
2. the Share folder
3. the SF folders.

TIA

This may get long but here goes:

First create a Group for each SF folder.

Next you need to set the permissions through the share. The default is
"everyone" full control, but I usually don't like to keep that. So I
set the share to only allow the AD groups I make for those folders to
use that share.

Then you need to set permissions on the root of the initial folder for
read/list for all of the groups assigned to the sub-folders.

Then on each subfolder tree (G1, G2, G3 and so forth) assign the AD
group the permissions you want them to have. (Read, write, delete
.......) Don't forget the advanced permissions as well. There are a lot
of those that helps you get very granular with file permissions.

Also don't forget to include your Domain Admin group to these folders
and your system or backup group as well so you can back up the files.
