MARK

I'VE PUT TOGETHER A CLIENT DATABASE FOR MY WORK USING AN
ACCESS PROGRAM. I'VE ALWAYS KEPT A COPY ON A FLOPPY. MY
DATABASE IS PASSWORD PROTECTED. I HAD A PROBLEM OPENING
THE DISC ON MY COMPUTER. THERE WAS A CONSTANT MESSAGE
WHICH READ 'DISC ERROR,CYCLIC REDUNDANCY ERROR'. WHAT I
DID NEXT WAS GO TO PROPERTIES ON THE FLOPPY AND REPAIR.
MY DISC NOW TRANSFERRED TO MY DESKTOP, I ENTER MY
PASSWORD FOR OPENING MY DATABASE, HOWEVER NOW I GET A
MESSAGE STATING 'RECORDS CANNOT BE READ; NO
READPERMISSION ON 'MSys Access Objects'. and my floppy
gives me this same message. I've used this disc and
opened my db many times before. What can I do to re-open
my files? Can anyone help me?

Desperate!

Hi Mark,

It's corruption. If JETComp.exe cannot repair it (see:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;273956) then I
would recommend that you perform a Google search for Database Recovery
Specialist (include keywords "Microsoft Access").

you to review the information at the following link regarding Microsoft
Security Bulletin MS03-026

to visit Windows Update at <http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/> to install
the patch. Running the SCAN program from the Windows Update site will help
to insure you are current with all security patches, not just MS03-026."
