I seem to be having a problem with my file permissions under VIsta Business,
SP1. When I try to run a file backup with the backup tool, I get ultimately
an error message that the schedule task is not running and that I need to
start it. When I try to manually start the service, I get an error message:
Windows could not start the task scheduler service on Local Computer.
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start.
I was told to check in the Event Viewer to see if there is anything in
there. Of course, that service is not running either, and when I try to start
it manually, I get the same error message.
I don't know if this is related, but the PC I am using is a tablet PC. When
I boot up the laptop, I can use the pen (for example to enter the User ID),
but when logged in, the pen functionality is gone. I'm wondering if that
could have anything to do with some file permissions. Also, when logged in, I
don't have access to the "my documents" folder. I get an error message
"Access denied".
