I posted this in the FP NG, and it was suggested to post my question here:

Since moving my Frontpage webs to a new server, I am getting a flood of
security messages in my event viewer:
Event Type: Failure Audit
Event Source: Security
Event Category: Logon/Logoff
Event ID: 537
Date: 1/13/2005
Time: 11:59:17 PM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: CHTWEBS
Description:
Logon Failure:
Reason: An unexpected error occurred during logon
User Name:
Domain:
Logon Type: 3
Logon Process: Kerberos
Authentication Package: Kerberos
Workstation Name: -

Any ideas on this?

Also, every author with the execption of myself can access the webs via
Frontpage. I know it's a profile issue, since I can access the webs on
another PC.

Under my profile, I can get to the server via http:// - but not \\servername
(I have domain admin rights)

I would rather not delete my profile if at all possible.
TIA,
Tom C

If I have digested the provided info correctly, you are having
a client problem. When you use this one machine (with any
account on that machine?) you can access the FP webs when
using a URL (http://server/. . . ) but not when going to the same
web (?) by use of an UNC (\\server\. . . )

If this happens for all accounts on that one machine, then
examine the Security Options in the Local Security Policy
of that machine and compare with one where this does work.
Since you problem is with Kerberos based authentication
but not with NTLM based authentication, examine particularly
the policies controlling client/server communications.

I believe that the problem is with my profile. i can log on as another user,
and will not experience the problem.
I only have this problem with the new migrated server - not with any other
server.
Thanks,
Tom C
