I just have a quick question. I'm running windows xp
Professional with simple file sharing disabled. How can I
keep people from even seeing the shares I have set up on
my computer without entering a valid name and password?
In other words, if someone is in my workgroup but doesn't
have an account on my computer they can browse "network
neighborhood" to get to the workgroup and they see my
computer name. When they double click on my computer name,
however, I want the username and password box to come up,
where they'll have to enter a valid account name from my
machine. Currently the computer opens and shows the user
all of the shares I have set up, regardless of whether or
not they have access. (Granted, I do have specific
permissions set up on these shares, but I'm just
wondering) Will i have to do something about hiding those
annoying "printers/faxes" and "scheduled tasks"? Thanks
for the help.
