Can one permanently dlete a message from the Inbox (like the Shift-DEL in
Outlook)- i.e. without going through two stages of deletion...?

The combination of the Shift with the Delete from the pop-up menu works.
What seems not to work is the Shift-X icon (on the toolbar). It simply adds
a new a separator to the left of the X (Delete icon)...

Any idea?

Not that I know of, confirmation is asked for however you delete in WM

Shawn,
Thanks for your reply but I guess that you understand that what you proposed
is different from what I asked for.
I want to delete permanently (from the Inbox) only selected messages without
going through two stages of confirmation every time.
Cleaning the Deleted hence is not a soultion for me.

Yes. It will prompt you once but then it will delete them all.

Permanently.

I have just changed from Outlook Express to WIndows Mail and found exactly
the same problem. I understand exactly what you want to do and have been
frustrated by the addition of separators on the menu bar when I used the
SHIFT + [Delete Icon]. I have just tried using SHIFT + DELETE KEY and it
works like it used to. Its not quite the same but at least there's a
solution. Hope this helps.
