I am trying to keep employees from playing games. How do you remove the
games without the employees being able to go into Add/Remove and into
Microsoft Components and reloading the games. I do not want to lock down the
control panel though. I just need to be able to prevent the games from being
re loaded.

Thanks

How are your users set up? Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP? This
could be solved in at least two ways:

1. Set the users up as limited accounts, so that they
cannot install/uninstall software.

2. Remove any .cab install files (the files from the
installation disk) from the hard drive, and then they
cannot add them without the install disk.

Hope this helps. Others may have better ways than this,
but I cannot think of any more.

Wes:

This is easy to do.

You can research "sysoc.inf" on your own.
But, here is a summary of it.
Before giving PC to user:
1. Ensure that your Windows Explorer Folder Options allow you to view
hidden, system, and operating system files.
2. Search for sysoc.inf
It is in C:\windows\inf or C:\winnt\inf
3. Open sysoc.inf and visit this article
http://www.mvps.org/ecvogel/kb/XP_remove_progs.htm
4. You will temporarily "unhide" games and pinball from the Windows
Components options.
5. Remove games and pinball.
6. Open sysoc.inf again, and "hide" games and pinball.
7. Enjoy

Joe
