if I changed the page from automatically and increase
the size would it help in the overall performance of the
system it did in xp so would it work in vista home premium 64

Generally, it isn't going to help. It's best to let Windows handle the page
file. You can change it to a different drive, which can help a little. But,
most of the time the performance increase is minimal.

Can't hurt.

I've always set a fixed page file size. And I have it on a different
disk than my system disk as well.
