In later builds of Vista, I've heard rumors that the performance rating tool
has had lots of changes done to it. Will this affect my performance rating
and if so, how? (For the better or for the worse?) I'm satisfied with my
computer getting a '3' and would hate to see it drop to a '2' since it's a
little close to being in the 2-range in two categories. I know they're just
numbers, but...

Current ratings in Vista Beta 2 (5384):
Processor (AMD Sempron 64 2800+ @ 1.6GHz) = 3.1
Memory (1.5GB PC-2700) = 3.0
Hard disk (41.43GB free of 55.89GB WD 120GB HD IDE 8MB cache 7200RPM) = 3.7
Graphics (Ati Radeon X1600 PRO - WDDM) = 5.9
Gaming Graphics: 256MB GDDR2 (It's being reported as 384MB but this is a
known bug) = 4.3

5472 does about ten minutes of evaluating the computer before you even see
the desktop. In fact the whole OOBE is new and fairly elaborate. It looks
pretty neat.
My rating came out at 3.8 which is about what it is under the Upgrade
Advisor.

...yes, but what? I really don't understand why so many people are hung
up on this. It's an open-ended hardware scale, not an exam. In a couple
of years, everyone will be buying hardware that's probably 10-20 or more.
