Performance hit with x8 card in x4 slot?

I have a Radeon 9600 Pro AGPx8 card in my PC which only has an AGPx4 slot.

It works fine but how much of a performance-hit will this cause? My system
seems to be running fast so it can't be half speed?

it is running at half speed (that being agp x 4)
it doesn't make bugga all difference does it ? :)

You are not running, at half speed. You are running with half the
bandwidth. The difference, in performance, should be negligible.

There's plenty of tests on the web abouyt AGP 4x v 8x and the result is that
it makes no difference at all (2-3fps).

You maybe losing 0-3fps.... Time to blow $300 on a CPU/mobo upgrade!

This DaveW character is on both ATI and Nvidia groups, every post he
makes is misinformation FUD. Totally screwing over n00bs asking
question - so others have to jump in and provide correct info to the
OP.

Best thing is to ignore him, and perhaps tell him to shut up because
hes an idiot.
