Greetings,
I have the following hardware:
Abit BX133 motherboard
PIII 1GHZ processor
(2) 256MB PC133 Crucial SDRAM
LeadTek GForce2 32MB AGP card.
Adaptec 29160 SCSI Host Adapter
(2) Quantum 18GB SCSI hard drives
I am running Win98 on this system. My chief complaint is that it opens
applications
slowly. When I launch Delphi 6 (a programming environment) it takes quite a
while
to start it up. Other apps take quite a while as well.
This hardware isn't ancient. It should be fairly zippy. What things can I
do/look at to
pick performance up ? I'd like to work with the hardware I have, so
hardware purchases
are further down on my list of things to do.
thanks in advance,
-D
