Perfmon stats to justify RAM upgrade

I want to present justification for a RAM upgrade (currently 256Mb). Which
counters in perfmon do I want to use and how do I set them up to generate a
record of my typical use to demonstrate that I would get a significant boost
in performance? (Or to demonstrate that it wouldn't help all that much.)

Why go through the effort of benchmarking when any computer magazine will
have dozens of articles describing the benefits of extra RAM? It is common
knowledge that more RAM offers better performance, and an extra 256MB of RAM
is very inexpensive. That's your justification.

Part of it is curiosity... I want to know exactly what my system is doing.
Part of it is I want to know where the bottlenecks are - video? Network?
Slow disk drive?
