perfmon puzzle

in perfmon, I am watching the % total processor time
counter and every object under process. I notice that
the occasionally the processor will spike, but there is
no process to account for the spike. Does anybody have a
thought as to how/why?

In addition to running programs that you started yourself
Windows does all kinds of things on its own. Unless your
computer has started to run noticeably slower than it
usually does you probably don't have a problem.
