PERFLIB ERROR Event ID: 1010

The Collect Procedure for the "Tcpip" service in
DLL "C:\WINNT\system32\Perfctrs.dll" generated an
exception or returned an invalid status. Performance data
returned by counter DLL will be not be returned in Perf
Data Block. Exception or status code returned is data
DWORD 0.

My event log is full of these.. There doesn't seem to be
any adverse effects on any of the users, but an event log
full of stop signs drives me nuts! I have made several
forays into MS.com trying to shed some light on this
problem, but so far, no luck.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

This is a Win2K Server with SP4

Based upon this KB article,
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;819716&Product=win2000,
you could remove the NIC and try a different brand or call MS and get
the fix mentioned.
