Hello,
ASP.NET 2.0 deployed itselft to all my servers thru WSUS, and several dozens
of my servers encounter the following error :
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Perflib
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1008
Date: 2/14/2007
Time: 11:54:44 AM
User: N/A
Description:
The Open Procedure for service "ASP.NET_2.0.50727" in DLL
"C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_perf.dll" failed.
Performance data for this service will not be available.
Which is documented in this KB http://support.microsoft.com/?id=300956
The problem is this manual operation on dozens of servers is not acceptable.
I waited a long time for a patch which would correct this problem, but still
nothing has been released, and my logs are still full of this annoying error
message.
It appears that it exist a tool named PCRW (Performance Counter Rebuild
Wizard). I called Microsoft to obtain it but they want to charge me $245.00
before they will point me in the right direction.
How can I solve this problem on all my servers which is an annoying bug
without paying anything and without spending weeks on it doing it by hand ?
Thanks,
Regards,
Laurent H.
