Hi, I want to write the NotesHolder review because I have something to
say. :)

Usually when I am at my computer I have something to jot down real
quick and I either have to write it on the nearest peice of paper
available (which doesnt always mean I should be writing on it) or I
have to open an existing .txt file and add to the tons of other
"notes" there or I have to make a new .txt file by right clicking and
selecting "New .txt file". For years, all of that was just a little
bit of a pain in my neck until I found NotesHolder Lite. Now, when I
have a quick note to jot down, Notesholder is easily accessed from
its hidden spot on the right side of my computer. It won't create
world peace but it's free and it does what it says it will do in a
very simple and easy to use way. (I really don't work for the
company... I am just that happy with it!) :>)

You can find the fine freebie software at http://notes.aklabs.com :)

Crippleware and nagware!

Benny, you are not right. The Lite version has all required features
and the ad banner is not annoying and very small. Categories is a
good feautre of Standard version, but it's not unnecessary for me.
All other limitations seems like a joke :) Do you need to change the
standard color of the docking line, export your notes to XML or
create more than 7 backup copies ? :)

Looks to be too crippled and nagged to be of any use.

I use Keynote, and it's totally free with no nags. But it's really more than
I need. I am looking for a lighter note organizer that has good search
capabilities.

Have you tried ScrapBook2.14?
http://home.pacbell.net/nitzsche/scrapbook.html

'Scrap Book is a free-form database program that manages text lists of all
kinds. The unstructured nature of the program makes it easy to type first
and organize later. It can be used as a phone book, URL outliner, file
launcher, to-do list, or a multiple page clipboard.

Scrap Book databases are organized into cards, which are like pages in a
book. Each page contains text data, which can be anything you can type.'

Bob,
What about golden section notes ? sorry I don't have a link for it right
now. IMO, GS Notes is much much better than Keynote or Treepad.

Five, I searched and searched for a good note, sticky note, etc
program. They ALL seemed to have little idosynchrocies and supposed
'easy to learn' controls. Also I found a lot of them just GOT IN THE
D**M WAY (of the screen!) So...next up Notes Holder. THIS is THE ONLy
screen note utility to bother with. The best part is it is doesnt take
up ANY screenspace. NONE! It has a tiny line along the side of the
screen and drops down when you need to use it! GENIUS!

PS. It's just my opinion.

nice program, but I like and use " QuickPad " , because it doesn't
need to be running in the background , a single click on the shortcut
(on the quick launch toolbar) starts it , and it automatically saves
on closeing ...easy..

I use this at home and at work.

JC&MB Quicknote v.4.6

I like the fact that it has a transparency setting for Win2000 and up.

You just found me a program I have been searching high and low for.
Thank you!
