Hi there,

I have a pentium 915. Is the Core2 Duo 6300 noticeably faster? They
are still around 100+ bucks, and want to know if I will notice
anything. If not, I'll just throw in some more ram, as I only have
1gb now.

I mostly play Games, and my graphics card is a 7950 geforce. Thanks.

See, e. g.,

Throw in some more RAM and wait til Intel CPU prices are further down
(July 22 +).

After closing your game, go to the task manager, and look at peak page
file usage. If the number exceeds the size of your RAM, adding more
RAM will be the best bet. With only 1GB, I'm fairly certain that games
that warrant a 7950 will benefit from more RAM.

Whats with July 22+? Is a new chip comming out?

It's sharp price cuts. See, e. g.

<http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=7293>:

"The Q6600, which Intel launched in February, currently sells for $530
in quantities of 1000. When the product was originally launched, it
was priced at $851 in quantities of 1000. The next round of price cuts
will effectively lower the price to $266."

Among the new chips, the Pentium dual-core E2160 deserves attention,
see, e. g.
