I recently upgraded my mainboard and CPU to Pentium 4 and
am having problems loading XP Pro. I format and Win gets
3/4 of the way thru setting up the drivers when I get
kicked out to a blue scree. Anyone know of compatibility
problems with P4 and XP?

Thanks

It gives some messageabout an IRQ... or at least it did
and then it scrolls the next time I try to load....

I tried to reset my BIOS but I think I may have pooched
it. It won't even load up - I just get some lines on the
screen and it doesn't even do the POST anymore. Can I
revert to the original BIOS settings by removing the
onboard battery?

Take it back and let the store sort this out. The MB, CPU,
or RAM may be bad. When XP won't install right of the
gitgo it is usually bad hardware somewhere. I just went
through this, pulling my hair out, until I found a bad stick
of ram.

That's the message. How do I go about setting that up
then? I know how to work with the BIOS but how do you
reduce the number of things loading on the system?
Unplug them?
