Pending file operation

Hi there

I am trying to install Quickbooks 2002 on WXP pro and an error comes up that QB has detected there are pending file operations and that I need to restart my machine. I do this and then try and install QB again and same message appears. This is a clean install of WXP and is driving me crazy.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem. I'd prefer not to reinstall WXP.
