I am trying to connect from a client dial-up connection
using VPN to an office network over the internet. This
will be a peer-to-peer connection since we do not have a
server. Supposedly I have made the connection - both
computers show "Connected" in the Network and Dial-up
Connection control panel. However, I am not able to "see"
the network from the client or vice-versa. A couple of
related issues, the office computer happens to be behind a
router (I have set up tuneling through the router), and
when connected the office computer no longer shows any of
the "computers near me" - instead I get an error
message "Workgroup not accessible, the list of servers for
this workgroup is no longer accessible". Are there some
settings necessary on the client and office computers for
them to see each other? By the way, the office computer
being tunneled to has a static network IP address while
the other computers on the office lan are automatically
assigned. Thanks for any and all suggestions.
