Hello,

I have 2 Win2K pro, both have statci ip address, both can use internet and
ping each other. Both can see another computer in my network places. Both
have the hard disk sharing. After click the computer icon, then show the
following message "There are currently no logon servers available to service
the logon request. " Do I miss something?

Thanks

the msfts' big picture:-)

are the computers members of domain?
if so, is the domain controller (providing authentication) available?

if having just few computers is your case, I'd go for workgroup with
users defined locally (instead of domain with all related troubles)

ps

Make sure both computers are in the same workgroup and all useraccounts
exist on all computers.
File- and printersharing loaded?

you mean, the user logged on computer(s) with Win2K Pro can map drive
from Win2K server?
is the user logged locally or to domain (in other words do you use
domain concept)?

Both computers can login server and map server driver.
Both computers are in same group.
Both computers are using netBEUI and TCP/IP.
192.168.1.101 192.168.1.102
255.255.255.0 255.255.255.0
192.168.1.254 192.168.1.254

Server 192.168.1.100
DSL Router 192.168.1.254

Both computers can see each other and server from my network places.

When I click another Win2K pro, just give the message "There are currently
no logon servers available to service". Same message when I click both pro
computers from server.

Thanks

David

Both computers login server's domain, not pro itself, and map server's
drivers, no problem at all.

Both computers can click server icon from my network places, just can not
click another pro computer.

Both pro have hard driver sharing for everyone.

Thanks

David

So you don't have a peer to peer, but you have a serverdomain.
In that case, does this server (W2K?) run DHCP and DNS?
How many nics in the server?
