We have a really odd problem that is preventing us delivering a consignment
and I need your help.
One of our customers has a Windows 2000 AD and Windows NT Domain. We have
made three builds for them (build logs attached). One of them has a Dutch
MUI, the other English and the last a French MUI.
The Dutch and English versions connect and operates without any issues to
the domain. Users log in to the domain and then use the terminal.
The French version is a big problem. Here is the process of what is
happening:
1.. terminal is powered on
2.. terminal auto logs on as local user
3.. user joins domain - this takes about 5 minutes
4.. reboot request after joining
5.. terminal reboots and login prompt comes up
6.. user types in username and password
7.. user then selects the pull-down for selecting the domain
8.. message box comes up stating downloading domain details - stays about
5 minutes
This includes selecting the local machine
9.. user selects domain and clicks GO
10.. Login to the domain takes 15 to 20 minutes
11.. To find out what was happening, I did a Ctrl-Alt-Del and at the login
I logged in as the local user.
12.. looking at Services I noted that Event Viewer, Netlogon and SNMP had
not started.
The problem occurs with W2K-AD and NT-Domain.
The problem DOES NOT occur with the Dutch and English versions.
Both builds work perfectly on our Windows 2000 AD.
The only difference between the two builds is the MUI selection.
