hi. I exported my contacts from MS OL 2k to a .pst file, and then dragged
that file to the laptop through my ethernet lan, and tried to open the file
using MS OL 2k on my laptop by choosing File->Open->.pst file and pointed it
toward the .pst file I just dropped on it's desktop.

The bolded *names* of PDLs I've
created appeared within the contacts, but when I open a group, no email
addresses/names are listed, they're empty.

thanks for any advice,
carmen

As you will see posted here daily, importing is never the correct way to
transfer Outlook data.
DL's are only one of the many things you lose.
Copy the PST file and open it in the other installation if you want all your
data .

Hello Russ,

I need to transfer my contacts from Outlook 2002 on my PC to my Mac which
recognizes
VCF cards but not PST files. I also have Entourage which is the equivalent
of Outlook on the Mac but it doesn't recognize PST files either.

Do you know a solution to this problem?

Nope. I've never even seen a Mac, let alone Entourage. Isn't there a
separate newsgroup for Entourage questions?

I did NOT import. As described below I selected File from the menu bar:
File->Open->.pst file and pointed it to open the .pst file where it newly
resided on my desktop as instructed on these newsgroups. I did export, but
did not IMport. Am I misunderstanding your reply?

thanks again,
carmen

Yes you are.
Doesn't matter on which end you do it. Exporting and importing fry DL's.
Reread my post. You copy the PST and open it.
