Hi

The only thing I need to do with a pdf document is to occasionally read
one. Adobe's programs seem a bit large/bloated. Is there a small,freeware
program that I can associate with pdf's to read them if I need to open
them?

Try an older version of Acrobat Reader -- version 4 or earlier.

Version 4 is 32 bit.

You shouldn't normally have problems running a 16-bit version of
Acrobat in Windows 32-bit version. What was the error?
