Hi

Our Organisation is government funded and the government has supplied us
with forms they required to be filled in. We have the information in our
database.

To save on re typing all information again was wondering if it was possible
to import the pdf file as a report in access. Then we can print it off using
the information already stored. Is this possible. We also have them as a
word document i think if that may be possible.

Thanks

Hi Andrew,

One common approach is to convert the PDF or DOC into one or more bitmap
images (one per page) and use these as backgrounds images on the report.
Then it's just a matter of lining up the report's controls over the
corresponding blanks on the image. (Various applications and printer
drivers these days can convert a PDF to a TIFF or other bitmap; or you
can always print the form to paper and scan the result.)

Alternatively, if (a) you have to fill in multiple instances of the same
form (for multiple cases or projects or whatever they are), (b) you have
the form as a Word document and (c) you can create a query that returns
one record for each instance of the form - then Word Mailmerge is a
sensible way to go: just edit the Word document to put mergefields where
the data needs to appear.
