PDF files

I am running XP Pro and IE6. Whenever I try to download a
pdf file, it ends up with a page with a small square with
a red cross in it in the top left hand side of the page.

If I copy the URL and paste it in the file>open menue, it
then opens up OK.
Why does it not open direct from the original page
without my having to go through this hassle?

Problem solved! Just re-installed original Adobe v5.0
and problem dissappeared. Must have got corrupted somehow.
