I'd go for XPDF, it contains a program "pdftotext" to do exactly
this.

There are numerous other alternatives, but I never tried these... do
a Google search for "pdf to text" or "pdftotext".

There are quite a lot of file there and I downloaded a file "
xpdf-3.00.zip"
That does not appear to be the correct file.

Can you please pinpoint the files needed to set it up.

Please help me to sort it out

The other one is not converting the references to "keyboard" commands
and "function keys" references. It just not taking any notice of those
references.

Your assistances is very much appreciated.
Thanks

You probably have converted your PDF file already by now, but just for the
record, here I go:

xpdf-3.00pl2-win32.zip is the file you need. Just download it and unzip it
in a directory of your choice. Copy the PDF file to that directory, open up
a DOS window and go to that directory. Type "pdftotext yourfile.pdf" and a
..txt file will be generated in the same directory, containing the text
content of the PDF file.
The other one is not converting the references to "keyboard" commands
and "function keys" references. It just not taking any notice of those
references.

I don't really understand what you mean here...
