Jay / Tony:
1.) FYI Acrobat 6 doesn't run on Windows 98; its an Xp/2000/NT product
only.
2.) This is unlikely a Windows problem, but more likely an Acrobat problem.
The only thing to try on the Windows front is to make sure you have the
latest Video drivers installed for your machine. (Yes, video drivers; they
impact printing as well.)
3.) Regarding the Adobe issues to try to address the vertical lines, a
couple of things to look at. A.) Increase the resolution of the file output
(in the printers folder, right click Adobe PDF, print preferences, then
click on the Advanced button); setting it beyond the default 1200 dpi. B.)
Adobe PDF printer uses the "Standard" conversion settings by default when it
is installed. These "Standard" conversion settings are for Acrobat 5 and
greater compatibilty which may not be great on all machines. You can create
new conversion settings which convert to an earlier PDF specifications
versions for wider compatability by choosing to Edit the conversion settings
(again right click to printing preferences) and select compatability with
Acrobat 4 or 3. This will prompt you for a save of the conversion settings,
which you can name as say "Standard V4" or "Standard V3".
4.) In Access you also might try increasing the point size (i.e. width) of
the text box borders, rectangles, and lines and other graphic elements to
see if that helps.
5.) Of course, last but not least, if you still have an Acrobat 5 CD hanging
around you can re-install PDFWriter from that CD and it will co-exist just
fine with Acrobat 6.
