Is there a freeware alternative to PDF Explorer
(http://planeta.clix.pt/rtt), simple management software for
pdf-documents, which looks very much like a progam under development
which prematurely became abandonware. There are a number of $ware
programs and I wonder if there is a competative freeware alternative.

That's an entirely different kind of program. Perhaps you should have
visited the PDF Explorer site first instead of replying so hastily.
PDF Explorer is a kind of simple database for PDF documents, good in
concept but it requires further development.
