I am using PowerPoint 97 and Adobe Acrobat 5.
Whenever I create a pdf of a slide with either a jpg or gif image, the slide is very S-L-O-W to display, and the image is fuzzy
I tried experimenting with some of the Adobe distiller compression settings, but got nowhere. Has anyone dealt with this problem

You might want to start here http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00517.htm How
can I make Acrobat PDFs from PowerPoint?

You said "Distiller" not "PDFWriter"
That earns you ten bonus points right off. Distiller Good, PDFWriter Bad.

Is the GIF itself transparent, or do the GIF/JPG images have transparency applied in
PowerPoint? That makes for seriously porky, pokey PDFs.
